There was a deceptively cold breeze across the fields at Basingstoke but the pace and effort on display set the pitch on fire. With Basingstoke unfortunately starting with 14 players it meant we had 7 subs to manage game time for.
From the kick off Bea N-S (Full Back and Captain) tidied up a bouncing ball and set off, slipping out of tackle upon tackle until she was in a foot race to score under the posts within the first minute. Farnham were relentless through powerful carries and dominant work at the breakdown. We further adding to the score with tries from Renee-May (wing), a second for Bea and one for Molly (No. 8) all converted effortlessly by Eva Jenkins (Fly Half) giving Farnham a confident 0-28 lead within the the first 15 minutes.
This allowed the entire bench to flood on and although this did lead to inevitable discontinuity, allowing Basingstoke to get a converted score back, it did not stop the quality out on show and the half ended 7-35 with a blistering run from substitute Full Back Amelie Moran again converted by Eva.
Basingstoke came out after 1/2 time with a renewed appetite and Farnham were slightly guilty of working hard individually but not as a team. This allowed Basingstoke's powerful forwards to carry and score first. With all the subs again needing game time the structure we have come to expect was lacking, although the individual skill was still too much for Basingstoke to handle. Further tries for Bea completing her hattrick a second for Amelie Moran along with Tries for Scarlett Glover (Sub Scrum Half) and Eva Jenkins who converted a further 2 gave Farnham a very confident performance.
The bonus point win takes us to 5 wins from 5 in the HOB league with 2 matches to play.
POM voted by Basingstoke: Eva Jenkins unreal 6 from 7 conversions and her first try of the season
