Writing a match report for an Away Walk Over seems counter intuitive but the strength of the team and adaptability surprise us week on week.
Arriving at Newbury &Didcot (N&D), excited to play our next League fixture was tamed when we learned the oppo only had 9/10 players, so the fixture was unable to happen as billed. Discussions with the N&D coaching team agreed the best way to get an even contest for all was to split Farnham's 20 girls and N&D's 10 girls to create two mixed teams.
Once we had split the girls up and done pre match warm ups what proved be a great training fixture kicked off. Team Black started strong moving the ball with ease only to be repelled by team Blue winning the breakdown battle.
Two great halves of rugby followed with fabulous tries from both sides, but the stand out performance of the day has to go to Poppy Filer (Tight Head - team Blue) who finished with 4 tries and converted 3 of them herself!!! no surprise Poppy was selected Farnham player of the day by the N&D girls.
Coaching team could not be prouder of the girls for making such a positive afternoon out of the match.
