Farnham Rugby Club’s 3rd XV claimed another well-deserved victory on Saturday, overcoming a determined Barnes 3rd team with a 49-28 triumph. The game was a classic example of rugby played in the right spirit, with both teams embracing the values of the sport despite challenging conditions.
A special thanks goes to Steve Tomlinson, who ensured the pitches were in playable condition despite the relentless rain. His care meant the match could go ahead, and Farnham made the most of the opportunity
The game was a tightly fought contest throughout, with Farnham’s tries coming from a balanced attack. Gareth Yeomans, Ollie Lewis, Ben Greenstreet, and two apiece from Ben Willoughby and captain Mark Baines helped secure the victory. Alfie McCormick had a flawless day from the tee, converting all of Farnham’s tries to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Ben Greenstreet’s electrifying running from full-back earned him the well-deserved Man of the Match award, as his evasive play kept the Barnes defense on their toes.
It was another excellent team effort, with Barnes providing a tough challenge, but Farnham’s resilience and teamwork ultimately saw them over the line for another strong performance.
Well done to all involved, and a big thank you to Barnes for a competitive and enjoyable game!
