Farnham Rugby Club's 3rd XV secured an emphatic 58-22 victory over London Media 2 in a hard-fought, competitive match that showcased the true spirit of rugby. The encounter was a great example of the TREDS values (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship), with both sides showing tremendous effort throughout.
The game was particularly special for Farnham as a number of younger players made their debut appearances in senior rugby. They seamlessly integrated into the squad, adding energy and dynamism to the team’s performance. Despite the final score line, the match remained competitive, with both teams playing with intensity and skill. A special mention to Ollie Lewis, who was Man of the Match due to his hard carrying and intensity in all he attempted.
Under the leadership of captain Mark Baines and guided by team manager Vince Wiltshire, the team executed their game plan effectively, capitalising on opportunities to put points on the board while maintaining solid defence against a determined opposition.
This victory continues to demonstrate the strength and depth within Farnham's squads, with the 3rd XV proving that they can both develop young talent and deliver top-notch performances.
A huge well done to all the players for their efforts, and thanks to London Media 2 for a game played in great spirit. They demonstrated incredible commitment to ensure the fixture takes place, travelling by tube, train and finally bus to Monkton Lane and were great company off the pitch. We look forward to continuing new friendships in the return fixture later on this season.
